Redesign of a course in Community-Based Surveillance (CBS), aimed at ensuring adequate training for volunteers across cultures and time zones. In this project, we maintained client communication, facilitated meetings, explored project directions, developed concepts, conducted user interviews, led workshops with users and the client, and compiled a report for solution delivery and further development.

What is CBS?

Community-based surveillance (CBS) is the systematic detection and reporting of events of public health significance within a community by community members. Many outbreaks begin with a cluster of unwell people or sudden deaths in a community which are not detected early enough by traditional surveillance systems.

The product

To streamline the process and enhance flexibility, the course was designed as independent modules, allowing each to function on its own. The course structure was also designed as a reusable framework, enabling other courses to be redesigned following the same principles—providing a sustainable solution for the organization. By redesigning the course, it became more efficient, giving participants greater value and better preparing them to implement CBS in the field.
